Investors Press for Sustainability Reporting(A)

Trillium Asset Management is among a dozen institutional investors, including the giant California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), which are calling on all companies in the S&P 500 to use the latest version of the Global Reporting Initiative’s G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines to measure and disclose their environmental and social performance. The investor and environmental coalition Ceres coordinated a letter sent to all 500 companies in the prominent S&P 500 index requesting that they report using the new GRI guidelines, which were released earlier this month.
