Trillium Featured in As You Sow 2018 Proxy Preview Report

Boston, MA // March 16, 2018
– In a year of rapidly shifting public policy, investors have filed more than 400 resolutions about environmental, social and sustainable governance issues for shareholders to consider this spring. Proxy Preview 2018, a collaboration between Proxy Impact, Si2, and As You Sow, helps investors align their investments with their values and includes analysis and insight on workforce diversity, cyber security, and data privacy from leading experts including Susan Baker, Brianna Murphy, and Jonas Kron of Trillium Asset Management’s shareholder advocacy team.
The report addresses the following:

  • A total of more than 400 shareholder resolution filings are covered, including those that won’t go to votes because of company challenges at the SEC and dozens more withdrawn by proponents, often after companies agree to change.
  • Climate change, energy and sustainability: 2017 boasts 80+ resolutions on climate change, woven throughout upcoming annual meeting agendas alongside 50 more about sustainability oversight, reporting and related ties to executive pay.
  • Political spending: Shareholders continue their quest for more oversight and disclosure of corporate lobbying and election spending — with close to 100 accountability resolutions.
  • Diversity and equal pay: Reflecting nationwide views on #MeToo and #TimesUp, diversity and inclusion proposals continue to surge, with three dozen on workplace diversity, nearly as many on equal pay and three dozen more about making boards less “stale, male and pale.”
