Trillium CEO, Matt Patsky, Invited to Speak at Second Vatican Conference on Impact Investing

“It is important that ethics once again play its due part in the world of finance and that markets serve the interests of peoples and the common good of humanity.” – Pope Francis

JUNE 16, 2016: Trillium Asset Management’s CEO, Matt Patsky has been invited to speak at the Second Vatican Conference on Impact Investing, which will be held in Rome, Italy from June 26-28.
Mr. Patsky has been asked to share his perspective on how investors in the public markets can invest while considering environmental and social impacts on poor and disenfranchised people across the globe.
In 2014, the first Vatican Conference on Impact Investing brought together Impact Investing leaders from around the world to engage leaders of Catholic institutions on how private capital could be catalyzed to lift the poor and vulnerable out of poverty.
The goal of this conference is to explore when and how faith-based institutions can employ a market-based model which utilizes private capital and new partnerships to attain and sustain their social mission; and enable these institutions to interact with and learn from successful social entrepreneurs and impact investors.
Other confirmed speakers at the upcoming conference include Mitchell Strauss, Special Advisor, Socially Responsible Finance at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; Sir Ronald Cohen, Chairman of the Global Social Impact Investment Steering Group; Matt Bannick, Managing Partner at the Omidyar Network; Dr. Patricia Dinneen, Senior Advisor at EMPEA; and Margie Sullivan, Former COO and Chief of Staff at USAID.
The conference will close with an opportunity for conference attendees to celebrate Mass with Pope Francis for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
